Ultrasound

Committed to Excellence

The ultrasound lab at Pleasant Valley Hospital performs a wide range of procedures, including abdominal, obstetric/gynecological, vascular and cardiac ultrasounds. Using high frequency sound waves, our advanced ultrasound technology can detect and define abnormalities with a high level of precision – all without the use of radiation.

We are proud to be accredited by the American College of Radiology for our ultrasound lab, an achievement that acknowledges high practice standards, image quality and clinical excellence. When patients choose PVH for ultrasound imaging, they are choosing a radiology team that is nationally recognized for meeting the highest standards in ultrasound care.

Ultrasound imaging plays a significant role in the evaluation and treatment of numerous medical conditions, and it is used in obstetrics to assess fetal well-being, identify multiple gestations, determine gender and estimate a delivery date. However, ultrasound imaging is useful far beyond obstetric care. It is ideal for viewing the heart and blood vessels, as well as abdominal organs such as the prostate, liver, kidneys, pancreas, spleen, colon and bladder. Ultrasound can also detect gallstones, breast cysts and injuries to ligaments, tendons and nerves.

At Pleasant Valley Hospital, we are committed to excellence in ultrasound imaging. For more information, call 304.675.4340.
