Welcome to Pleasant Valley Hospital Laboratory Services, where our modern laboratory and highly trained staff offer a full range of services for patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Led by board-certified pathologist Thomas Dougherty, MD, the Laboratory department works seamlessly with other clinicians to evaluate prognostic indicators and determine a personalized course of treatment for each patient.

We are proud to offer reliable, accurate and timely laboratory testing, a valuable tool in medical specialties such as obstetrics, oncology and urology. Our department provides laboratory testing for Mason County schools, the West Virginia CARDIAC (Coronary Artery Risk Detection In Appalachian Communities) Project, dozens of nursing homes throughout the region and doctor’s offices in Point Pleasant, Ripley and surrounding communities. With licensed and registered technologists, our laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists and the Joint Commission.
